Jonathan Fairfield
Leopard sightings in Kaeng Kachan National Park point to success in rejuvenation schemes Image: Sanook A video from the Kaeng Kachan national park posted on Facebook showed an adult leopard walking along a road. Reporters from Sanook also managed to snap a picture of a leopard in the park. Park chief Mana Permpoon said that schemes to promote habitat and feeding opportunities for such animals were bearing fruit. Populations of leopards, tigers, wild dogs and foxes was increasing, he said. Sanook got their picture at KM 13 in the park relatively near the camp in the evening when the leopard came out to feed. Kaeng Kachan park is in Petchaburi province south of Bangkok and north of the Hua Hin area. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2018-11-

kwilco
I saw elsewhere the proposition that this young animal due to its behaviour, might have been released from captivity. However in India leopards have thrived even near human habitation.....their lifestyle and behaviour makes them far more resilient than tigers. Although recent success reports are encouraging there are several proposals about that could reverse this and bring about the extinction of these apex predators and many other species. The Kaeng Krachan the "road improvement" scheme can only damage the ecosystem there. At Kanchanaburi the Burma road cuts right through the WFC causing untold damage.....and at Mae Wong the idea for a dam and the road to Umphang are unmitigated disasters waiting to happen A few success stories by no means indicates that environmentalists and conservationists can rest on their laurels. I'm a little surprised someone with a pic of an African elephant as their avatar doesn't seem aware of the full range of leopards. Old Croc
I recall a few years back a Clouded Leopard was captured by a farmer just north of Phuket. It was trying to get at his chickens. I fear it didn't survive. Edit - found the link: https://thethaiger.com/news/phuket/Naughty-clouded-leopard-caught-set-free-north-Phuket

Jaguars are MUCH larger and Stronger than Leopards it is a completely different species while they may look similar if you look closely Jaguars coat rosettes have spots inside them. Hogs
This does not look like natural behaviour as Leopards are usually very secretive and did not seem bother by how close the car got which indicates it is either used to Cars and people or it may be sick as it looks a bit skinny
