Visa for spouse

Featured Replies

Hi,

I plan to come in the near future to Bangkok to open a company. I live in China for 10+ years and my wife is chinese.

I have a few questions:

I will apply for a non immigrant B visa to come to open my company with the help of an agent, then get the work permit in Bangkok.

I would like of course that my wife comes with me during this process.

- I do not have a company yet, how can she apply for a non immigrant O visa for spouse. Also they require on the thai embassy website for this kind of visa a flight ticket with return to China, but we want to stay in Thailand, do we have to buy a roundtript ticket even if we do not plan to come back?

- Does she need to come with a tourist visa ( 60 days ) then can she change it to a non immigrant O visa to stay with me once she s there?

The visa system looks very complicated here and it s hard to find someone with similar situation on the forum.

Thanks for your replies.

You may find it difficult to get a Non ‘B’ visa at this stage. You usually need documentation from your Thai employer, or an invitation from company in Thailand you have s business connection with.

You don’t need a non ‘B’ to set up your company. You can enter as a tourist, set up the company, then get a non ‘B’ visa.

Once you have a non ‘B’ visa your wife shouldn’t have a problem getting a non ‘O’ as your wife.
