Quite a common one up here in the styx , where there are hills , is the brick in the road , vehicle breaks down , a brick is put behind a wheel to stop the vehicle rolling back , vehicle fixed then driven away leaving the brick in the road.

I noticed one yesterday near the crest of a notorious hill where lorries struggle almost daily. The square-ish lump was the size of a football and would break a car axle or shatter the fawkes of any bike hitting it in darkness or rain...
