Yes.  I usually have a hard time explaining that to some Thais that say "price same as before".  Well not when my first trip in 2004 the Thai baht to USD was 44 to 1, and today it is around 32 to 1.

  • I disagree.   Some places may have doubled their prices but most places will only have increased by around 30-70%. Notably Thai food prices have not increased too much in that time.

    Not directly related to cost of living but make sure that you and your family have adequate travel/medical insurance to cover accidents and emergencies.

Of course you have a very cool question. You could see GDP and inflation during this time. Based on these data, you can conclude that prices have increased by 2 times. I advise you to take more money

My monthly expenditure is about 2.5-3 times what it was in 2008 in thb.
