Going AGAINST THE TREND Educated citizens are more likely to believe that living in a democracy is important. In most countries, people with higher education hold stronger beliefs about the importance of democracy. But the opposite is true in Thailand and some other nations.

One dead, two injured as car crashes into petrol pumps

Hua Hin hospital finally to repay money to "fleeced" farang cancer sufferer, Damrongtham

Thai media 77jowo reported that the Hua Hin Hospital and the Department of Public Heath have agreed to return more than 20,000 baht to a man from the Netherlands who said he was fleeced by the hospital because he was a foreigner.

(Reuters) - Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush, who presided over the end of the Cold War and routed Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army but lost a chance for a second term after breaking a no-new-taxes pledge, died on Friday at the age of 94, a family spokesman said.

PHUKET: Three unsuspecting tourists heading home from Khao Lak after enjoying a holiday in Thailand found themselves in the middle of a drug raid after officers discovered 6,000 pills of ya bah (methamphetamine) hidden in an old fan that was in the back of the passenger van they were travelling in.
