December 3, 20187 yr Visa outlines payments security roadmap for Thailand By The Nation Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments, on Monday launched its “Future of Security Roadmap for Thailand”, outlining a robust approach for strengthening payments security in the country over the next three years. Visa’s roadmap focuses on a number of key initiatives which will enable security to evolve at the same pace as the technologies changing the way we pay, said Visa Thailand’s country manager, Suripong Tantiyanon. The security initiatives include: 'devaluing' data by removing sensitive data from the ecosystem and making stolen account details useless; protecting data by implementing safeguards to protect personal data as well as account details; harnessing data by identifying potential fraud before it occurs and increasing confidence in approving good transactions; and empowering everyone, including account holders, third-party providers and merchants, to play an active role in securing payments. December 4, 20187 yr i pay using my credit card. The retailer's employees steal my card number and sell it on the dark web. When I get my statement, I have a 3% added International Transaction Fee added to the total. The next time I use the card it doesn't work. Call credit card company and find my card's been blocked due to "suspicious activity." The Fraud Departments asks me 5 arcane questions ending in a question about charges I made two years ago. I'm unable to answer the questions. They end the call with an apology. Then you wonder why I used cash? Edited December 4, 20187 yr by connda

I'm unable to answer the questions. They end the call with an apology. Then you wonder why I used cash? Had a similar experience recently trying to use a my usual credit card to make a purchase from an online store I patronise regularly. The card had been blocked at source. When I rang my bank's security department to ask why nobody had at least phoned to alert me, I was told there was a rule against phoning customers outside office hours. They were supposed to wait until 9 a.m. before ringing me - though by that time, as I felt obliged to point out, it would have been four in the afternoon here! Not everything, it seems, changes as fast as the technology!
December 4, 20187 yr The last time I tried to use my credit card it was refused. Apparently my last bill had been for 19.95 GBP and I had paid 20 quid thus making me 5 pence in credit, and that was the reason. They said it would take two working weeks to repay the excess 5 pence to my bank.
