I quit a long time ago, but it was not easy. My program was a combination of patches and gum, but I doubled the length of time allocated. I had been smoking for 40 years, so taking a month to quit instead of two weeks was no big deal. Mix the gum with some regular gum so when you are down to half a piece, you have something big enough to chew.
I remember the smoking rooms well, particularly on long haul flights. They were a godsend. I got pretty good at smuggling lighters and matches.
Why they don’t spend the money on a beach sweepers to clean the whole beach early every morning is beyond comprehension. Once a month just doesn’t cut it.
