A friend went round to see her near neighbour because she'd heard that her husband had died suddenly.

So when she arrived at the house they both sat down and the neighbour was keen to know what actually happened.

So the woman whose husband had died said, "well we were sitting having a cup of tea in the morning and the subject got round to what we would have for dinner, and I said that we had a couple of chops in the fridge and a cabbage from the garden would go well with them".

So I gave him a knife and he went out into the garden to cut a cabbage and I was watching him through the kitchen window and suddenly he keeled over and died from a heart attack!

And the neighbour said, "oh that's terrible, so what did you do?".

The woman said, "well I had to open a tin of peas didn't I".
