  • Why is THAT woman still prime minister? Why is a Muslim/Muslim apologist the mayor of London? Why is Birmingham a Muslim slum?

  • Yes it can, as the Brexit farce seems to be getting worse.

  • To be fair, if the UK had gone into a no deal brexit straight after the referendum then the pound would have probably been on the up by now !

I went to one of these so called food 'banks' back in the UK, I gave a carton of cheese and onion Pringles.
I went back a week later and they'd given it away, can't trust any bank these days .

More crap - the 'poor' pay no income tax and food is non-vatable. (Along with tax funded handouts, travel concessions etc which they will receive net). If you're 'poor' what else are you paying money on that will have you competing with the Abramovichs of this world ? If you're motoring, smoking, drinking, holidaying etc you're not poor.

I did ask the other socialist clown to define rich so it would be easier to nail down exact figures but he was already floundering with other issues so I didn't press it!

Though he'll be along in a minute with something else that's nothing to do with his original gripe

Obviously there are more middle class but yet again whats that got to do with how much the rich pay which was your original issue, another poor fudge - the rich pay proportionately more taxes which makes a nonsense of your original posting that they should pay more - I've given you proof, you've replied with non-sensical soundbites.

Though of course the whole ethos of socialism is its easier to whinge about others peoples success than get off your fat arse and join them!

My work is done here - you can't fix stupid !

And I still hold that the rich should pay more, you think they shouldn’t, we disagree.

Your position seems to be that as long as the poor have a crust of bread they should be happy, again, we disagree.

It’s your inability to formulate a coherent response that has you resorting to name-calling, not my stupidity.

I make pretty good dough, I just care more about the poor than you do.

Well, no vote today.

Heard the US Sec State talking tonight about how the US will do all it can to help the UK with the hard Brexit transition...

Including a quick free trade agreement...

Which will be everything in favour of the US particularly anything related to pharmaceuticals

But no different than the stance taken by the EU in their negotiations.

Do you mean the the UK’s productivity is such that it cannot compete with the US under a free trade agreement?

You need bourbon, we need gin...

Let’s do this!

I'm seeing c. 41.25 MMR at the moment.  Cash exchanges might be gouging the foreigners at this season, since the cash rate is a little lower ref. MMR than usual.

2-12 only thing that will stop it falling below 40 is brexit not going ahead possible but unlikely, some clown on another forum today predicting 75bt/£ when we leave ???? maybe i should of asked him in how many weeks 5,50,100,500,5000,50000 instead of asking him what he had been drinking????

Maybe tomorrow the way thing are dropping today.. MMR now 40.75.  Superrich probably less than 40.5 already.

When will they sort out this sorry mess. Whichever way you voted in Brexit, I'm sure most people can see that a compromise of some sorts needs to be reached for the good of everybody...

The problem is, politicians and many of the general public is so far up their own backside with their political beliefs that they can't see a compromise has to be reached. This is is the problem in a badly run democracy. We need some strong leadership that isn't going to please everybody but will get the UK out of this hole. I'm sure a certain other female PM of yesteryear wouldn't have been afraid to make some unpopular decisions to get us out of this mess.

I'm no economist, but an improvement if we leave seems likely. In fact, any kind of decisive action either would seem likely to have a positive effect. Instead of this limbo.

Correct, whatever happens, the rate should go back up, right now we are at the peak of uncertainty, all markets hate uncertainty which is why we are seeing these shambolic rates.

The UK government needs a complete update and to get rid of some of the dead wood - this has proved that they are about as much use as an inflatable dartboard.

the FTSE 100 flourished with the weak pound, its since dropped 12% and is 4-5% less than 18 years ago,it seems to me its purely a british thing as very few other supposed inferior nations dont seem to take such a kicking, seems to me its all brexit related.

Seems to be that the Yen is the latest "safe-haven" currency, and with it many of the other Asian ones.

USD may be on it's last legs.

For someone who wants to transfer a chunk of money to Thailand, this is extremely upsetting and depressing.
