webfact
PM gives policy briefing to ISOC BANGKOK, 11 December 2018 (NNT) - Thailand's Prime Minister has given a policy briefing to the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), stressing the importance of national security for the purpose of promoting public prosperity. Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha attended a meeting to follow up on the 2018 performance report of ISOC. In his speech, he told the agency to educate the public on the government's efforts to maintain peace and order in addition to its policies on security, prosperity and sustainability. The premier expressed his satisfaction with the progress made in the three southern border provinces through career-building programs. He also urged peacekeeping officials to create understanding in regard to law enforcement and that it is not the government's intention to infringe upon people's rights. As for debt-relief measures, Gen Prayut said ISOC must educate the public on the terms of repurchase agreements as a long-term solution. The Prime Minister also provided guidance on combating drug and human trafficking, illegal labor, public orderliness and cybersecurity. -- nnt 2018-12-
