I am located in Prachuap Khir Khan and need to do a 90 day visa run for  a non o multiple based on marriage by December 30.  What are my options and cost out of Prachuap or Hua Hin. I have no car and am afraid it will be too expensive to fly that time of year so I suspect I will be traveling in a mini van. Also when I was in the Dan Singkhon immigration office getting some information they said that I would only be able to leave the country one time with my multiple entry visa especially at Ranong and suggested Kanchanaburi. They said this has something do do with the fact that my visa it is based on marriage thatI received from the embassy in New York. This was news to me and on further question the said the rules are changing all the time and everyone is complaining about this. Has anyone else heard of only one entry on a multible entry?  I have had at least 5 multiple entry visa and lived in thailand for over 6 years. At this point I am so confused by the ever changing rules that It is becoming very difficult to play the game.

I also inquired at immigration in Dan Singkhon about extension based on marriage in hua hin in the future, but they really tried to push me away from even trying to get it but advised instead to get a  retirement extention.

The Poipet/Aran crossing has been restricting border hops on multiple entry Non O visas, and Ranong has been flaky at times. It would not surprise me if they have introduced restrictions there. At most crossings, there should be no problem continuing as in the past. The Ban Phu Nam Ron crossing in Kanchanaburi is, indeed, one option.

Ranong is obviously the easy option from here especially using the Andaman club

Dont understand why they say you cant use that border why would it be any different than Kanchanaburi Burma border

A faction within immigration oppose the MFA being able to issue visas, from which there is no path to collection of extra-money by bad-apples.  As they cannot get the laws and rules (police-orders) changed to their satisfaction from those at the top, they have begun enforcing non-existent rules at some entry-points.  There appears to be no oversight in effect to stop them.

It's hard to know if the IO you spoke with was being helpful in warning about a corrupt entry point, or spreading untruths to try to scare you into immigration's clutches, but Ranong has been reported to demand bribes for out/ins in years past, so it is possible they are inventing a new rule there.

I also use a 1-year Non-O ME Visa, and would recommend carrying 20K Baht worth of cash or travelers checks on border bounces, given there is a legal rule that they can ask to see this upon entry on any Visa.  A bad IO might block you anyway, but "show the 20K" was the first trick they tried when they began abusing those entering with valid Tourist Visas.  We could be next.
