chiangrai
I need to go back to Ireland (or London)but I don't have a fixed time. I will go when the flights are cheapest. When are they cheapest.I heard Christmass day is cheap to fly in the west. Otherwise what date in January do they get cheap again. Any other advice on where to get cheap flights is also welcome. chiangrai
One way would be great.
allane
In all probability, the later the better: - peak holiday season will be winding down by then - the longer in advance you book, the cheaper the price. That is almost universally true. Go online, and do some comparisons.
chiangrai
Okay, My brother told me he got a really cheap flight once by flying on Christmass day itself but it wasn't from Thailand. Where online is good.
allane
Start with a Google search "fly Bangkok to ____(name of city or airport)_____" Sorry, I don't fly there, so can't be any more specific.
KhunBENQ
http://skyscanner.com is the most popular starting point for a search. You can do search for whole month to get an overview. DON'T wait for January. This is the month with the highest prices in that direction. Many tourists flying home from winter holidays in Thailand. Flights heavy booked. Skyscanner shows a one way Bangkok to Dublin on Dec 25 with Finnair for 13629 Baht. Only "downpoint" is the fact that the booking/customer service for this price goes via "trip.com" which I don't know anything about. Booked via Finnair is more than 19000. Finnair is a proper full service airline (price includes baggage, meals/drinks). Price is hard to beat. There are very cheap oneways with Eurowings to Duesseldorf (10600 incl. baggage/meal). Unfortunately the connections to Dublin are not that cheap (4000 and higher). You won't find such combinations (two separate bookings) with skyscanner. Oneway: it should be noted that cheap oneways are really rare. Only few (low cost) carriers offer prices by segment. Oneway is in most case much more expensive than half return price. chiangrai
Thanks for your help. So it would be better to buy a return flight in Bangkok. How much would that cost. If January is the most expensive month to fly what is the cheapest month. Is February still expensive.
Katia
Skyscanner will tell you; you can view prices for the whole month.
KhunBENQ
16 minutes ago, Katia said: Skyscanner will tell you; you can view prices for the whole month. Yep. And it is surprising to see that a return to Dublin with reputable airlines (BA, KLM etc.) can be had below 22000 in February. Real low price months are not before May/June. And some of the low cost flights (like Eurowings) might end with the season (end of March).
