Medical Insurance and Married to a Thai Lady

Featured Replies

Dear Readers

How would this new ruling apply to retired and married to a thai lady

Answers would be appreciated

Gentlemen and all Ladies concerned.

I as an Expat struggle through the Thai rulings simply because i believe it is a no win //win situation if you pay the money

If for example your bank and funds from elsewhere became negative .

Then what are the ways to survive with your thai wife.

Who by the way is a fantastic partner.

I have not mentioned children because that is another matter in this scenario.

E.G. Still married to a Thai Lady

Retired  and still on O ME as stamped in RED by Kota Bharu Thai Embassy.

Am I wrong

Can somebody advise me please.

Do I have to leave Thailand in this crazy scenario.

Leave my wife and kid.

Sensible answers please .

Three questions need to be answered. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No Shit.

Best Regards

John Law

There is no ruling for foreigners married to a Thai national.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

+1

Are you referring to the proposed insurance requirement for those applying for OA long stay visas at an embassy or consulate in your home country.

Unless you planning on applying for that visa it would not affect you in anyway.

i understand your anxiety about (?) the new proposed insurance requirements.

but it has not happened yet.

not sure if there are cases of Farangs being separated from their families over lack of funds?

Not sure how others handled it, but I am on my wife's insurance, which is paid by the government (or the hospital she works for), not sure how that works. She also informed we are both covered I believe for life, so when she retires we both have coverage until I guess we die. I still prefer to go to Yanhee International Hospital, still way cheaper than US prices back home, and they treat you better!
