canuckamuck
Traveling through China with my wife. I am Canadian she is Thai. I am worried about having a transit visa issue. This is the return leg of our trip. On the way through China the first time we were surprised that we needed visas in Shanghai, they gave us visas, but they acted like they were doing us a favor and that we should have had visas. I am worried now that they might not choose to do a favor this time, or worse, our airline won't let us board in Canada. Our layover is short and we are going straight from Canada, Shanghai, to Thailand. No domestic flights. I have googled, but just got more confused. There will be no problem for me, bit Thais seems to be on a different set of rules.
theguyfromanotherforum
Just show them your onward ticket. I never had an issue.
Karensm
Hi Canuckcamuk, did you have to move terminals or just within the same terminal in shanghai? My husband is Thai and we’re doing something similar for our upcoming trip. Thanks in advance.
