PHUKET: A British man died of head injuries last night (Jan 3) after the motorbike he was riding crashed into a power pole in Phuket’s renowned Muay Thai and MMA training street, Soi Ta-iad, in Chalong.

Weather bureau confirms Pa Buk to hit Nakhon Si Thammarat tonight

The Meteorological Department issued an announcement this morning confirming that tropical storm Pa Buk packed with 75 kph wind at its centre would make landfall in Nakhon Si Thammarat province tonight.

13 students and 4 teachers saved by firemen from burning school building

PHUKET: The local office of the national weather bureau is urging people in Phuket not to panic from the fallout of tropical storm Pabuk, saying the impact on the weather across the island will not be anywhere near as severe as that on Gulf of Thailand.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's first tropical storm in three decades killed one person on Friday as it arrived on the south coast, knocking down trees and blowing off roofs in its path, but was losing speed, officials said, while warning against the risk of flash floods.

English teacher arrested after organic marijuana farm raided

A Thai-language hashtag that can be translated to English as #delaymyass became top trending on Twitter, with netizens slamming the junta, venting their anger about the delay and demanding an election in hundreds of thousands of different tweets.

 

Left holding a hot potato to determine the election date, the Election Commission (EC) on Friday said it was ready to hold an election and was only waiting for the government to issue the royal decree.
