watgate
I need to see a lawyer about drawing up a simple will or a probate document to ensure my g/f gets my bank acct and not the government. Can anyone recommend a competent lawyer who charges a reasonable fee?
naboo
The general advice is just to register a will at the local amphur. They can help you out.
eyecatcher
and the other general advice is to meet with your branch bank manager and register a letter with them to acknowledge that the wife is able to access your accounts after death.
baansgr
Competent, lawyer and reasonable fees is an oxymoron in Thailand. Ive heard people paying 10k-15k to register a simple will. Couldnt you just give her your pin number for future use.

jschorr
I'd contact Lanna Lawyers, they speak English, are based here in Chiang Mai, and they have a website. They have a reasonable package which includes a will, power of attorney, and a living will. I'm sure they would give you a quote for whatever you want and you could decide then if you think it's a good value. They have a table at the Chiang Mai Expats Club meetings too.
