Two Thai men have been arrested for allegedly snatching a gold necklace from a woman on a Pattaya street, police said on Wednesday.

Pattaya’s Pol Col Apichai Krobphet said Narit Khunnane, 26, and Charoonwitthaya Sawadeekit, 21, were arrested in front of a motorcycle repair shop in Moo 10 village in Tambon Nong Yai in Bang Lamung district on Tuesday.

The two were accused of driving their motorcycle after their victim, Wiphaporn Sonsomnuek, 27, and snatched her gold necklace worth about Bt28,000 and sped off after midnight on January 5. The victim was riding her motorcycle on the Thep Prasit road heading to Jomtien Beach.

Police traced the two from security cameras.

Narit is facing a charge of raping a Chinese tourist on October 21 and had been released on bail.

Haven't experienced a snatch for a while in Pattaya. Overdue for one.

Well done police; trying keeping them in the cells instead of releasing them on bail just so they go out and do the same again.

Are you baiting us?

How the hell can this scumbag be out on bail

do Thailand not care about their reputation

Thailand have a  justice system but it doesn't work

This is just so wrong, forcing that poor woman to re-enact the crime. She looks mortified. So insensitive to the victim.

Is that a beach/water in the background? Don't recall Thepprasit having a beach/water section.  Why no pointing? Good clear picture otherwise.

This is not just robbery but robbery with violence,  the authorities really do need to come down hard on snatching chains or bags from a person on a moving motorbike, as has happened before it can pull a a person off his or her motorbike forcing them to be dragged along and in a worse case falling under the wheels of another vehicle.

The picture summarises the whole nature of a predominantly juvenile and insensitive society....

A rapist and now a thief, who, most likely has numerous previous crimes under his belt - society needs to be protected from the animals - the Thai justice system is a complete joke, penalties of imbalanced... the 'normal' crimes such as this receive very little penalty, there is no concept of preventative measures... no message is sent to potential criminals...

Report them to the Chinese Embassy.

Confiscate their bike, sell it and give the money to the girl as compensation.

Beat them in the street-like in Cambodia
