Aranyaprathet Border Bounce to Reactivate online 90 day reporting

Recommended Posts

I used to be able to to use the 90 day online reporting facility until I got a new passport and have not left / re-entered Thailand on my new passport with a new arrival card. Whats the situation at Aran/Poipet these days for people with a one year permission to stay? I have used that border crossing quite a few times in the last 10 years and never had a problem. Can I just leave & re-enter the same day? I have seen reports about people having  visa exempt / tourist and even ME Non-O visas having problems. The reason I prefer Poipet rather than Chong Chom is that I get get an e-visa for Cambodia in advance and avoid a "chimps tea party" at the border. Any info / advice greatly appreciated.

I live in Buriram province.

If you have a 1-year immigration-issued extension with a re-entry permit, I doubt they would give you any problems.  They have a problem with those holding MFA-issued Visas and those with a longer-staying history, who request a Visa-Exempt entry.

You might have to pay on the Cambodian side if returning the same day (usually reported as 300 baht), due to their laws - but nothing to do with Thailand.  You might be asked "why?" by the Thai IO, if returning immediately on the same day.  They might not be familiar with the 90-day / new-passport glitch, so could be a source of confusion.

If it were me, I would arrive in the evening, stay overnight, and return the next morning - just to avoid any sort of issues / questions.  Could tell Thai Imm you went to visit the casino, which they would understand easily.

BTW, after entering Cambodia, if you want to visit the Casino area during your stay (not much else to see/do in Poipet), you only have to show your passport at the checkpoint - explain you are going to gamble - and they will just verify you have a current permitted-stay for Cambodia in/out.

Have you had your stamps transferred to your new passport at immigration? That needs to be done before you do a border hop for a new entry.

As said you should not have a problem using a re-entry permit based upon your extension of stay to do the crossing.

In previous encounters at Aran / Poipet I have told them that I was going to the casino to gamble and avoided the 300 baht "levy" to return the same day. Thanks for clarifying what I suspected would be the case.

Yes I have UJ.

I should have been more clear in my OP. It's been 2 or 3 years since I got my new passport and had the stamps transferred.
