Featured Replies

How much of money is required to have in a bank account when applying for a single entry tourist visa ?

Where do you intend applying? Some consulates need nothing, others want $$$.

Going to Penang, will apply through an agent, replies appreciated

At some embassies and consulate you need to show the equivalent of 20k baht.

Not sure what number is wanted at Penang but showing more than the equivalent of 20k baht it will be accepted.

Requirements for those applying for a Tourist visa in Penang.

I should of added too the above that the agents in Penang say to carry a bank statement showing at least 20,000 baht as they frequently ask for it. Also, if you intend to use the Southern land border crossings, be sure to carry a minimum of 20,000 baht or cash equivalent.

i have a funny story about this and believe me its real!

I was getting my NON-O visa at the thai embassy, the guy in front of me was getting a tourist visa.. officer asked him if he has 20K in the bank and has bank book or statement for it. He said yes. Pass

I gave my papers... no problem.. For NON-O you need 3-4 things thats all

The guy after me again for tourist visa.. And he was like ohh god i dont have 20K.. well his turn, officer asked nothing... Pass

funny eh?

i would put 20K in the bank for any case or on you

At some consulates, they ask for more documentation based on the pattern of entry to Thailand they see in your passport.  At others, they want every item every time.  And at Vientiane, they don't want anything except to see you don't have a "remark stamp" on a prior tourist visa (from them or anywhere else).

Anything special needed in Yangon ?
