It is 425hp out of the box... the ZZ383 uses the 400ci 3.75 crank doesn't it ?

Kinnock
Wow - that will great when finished. But I guess for trips to shows only, as will be tough to registered. I see Thai owned classics on the roads when going to shows - no Thai reg plates, but the police don't when the travel in packs.

From memory the block is brand new with a 4" bore, the crank is new to give 383ci. I was wrong, the ZZ383 runs a 3.8" which an OEM forged piece but also sold through the likes of JEGS and SUMMIT as a 383 stroker crank. 4" bore is same as 350 so nothing special there and the only details I can find on the actual block is that it is a 1986+ block that has 1 piece rear seal with 4 bolt mains and is clearance for the 3.8" crank... It is a stroker motor.

A 400 crank is 3.75, ZZ383 is a NEW 3.8 crank, 350 block is 4.00 bore, ZZ383 is a 4.005. All parts are brand new. I think the readers now understand so leave it there eh..The topic does not warrant more on the subject... ????
canthai55
The Chevy 383 Stroker is an 8 cylinder engine that uses the popular production Chevrolet 350 block and a slightly altered Chevrolet 400 crank. A stock 350 has a piston stroke length of 3.48 inches. The 400 crank changes the 383 to a total stroke of 3.75 inches. This produces a total displacement of 383 cubic inches (thus the name 383). http://www.383stroker.com/ One day you will either ... And for transman, even the chevrolet blurb on the zz383 says stroker crank. Chevrolet ZZ383
