BANGKOK — The Commoner Party announced its policy platform Monday which would include doing away with appointed provincial governors, creating a welfare state, decriminalizing the cultivation of marijuana and decommissioning dams for solar energy.

Boy savaged by dogs recovering in ICU

A seven-year-old boy is recovering from an “unprovoked attack” on Sunday by four stray dogs in the Ban Tha Noon area of Phang Nga’s Takua Thung district. Yeunyong “Nong D-Max” Chairap, who is being treated at Phuket’s Vachira Phuket Hospital’s intensive care unit, is conscious and has a normal blood pressure but still requires constant medical surveillance to prevent possible infection.

Authorities to clear Phuket of aggressive dogs and rabies

PHUKET:-- Phuket Provincial Livestock Office has announced today (Jan 28) that they will begin an island-wide project to vaccinate stray dogs against rabies, whilst removing aggressive dogs from the streets following a horrific attack on a 7 year old boy yesterday.

Huge crowd expected for cremation of monk

Tens of thousands of mourners on Monday pay their respects at a temporary crematorium at Buddhamonton Isan on the grounds of Wat Nong Waeng, Muang district, Khon Kaen province.

 

HUNDREDS of thousand of people are expected to attend the royally sponsored cremation of the much-revered monk Luang Phor Koon Parisuttho in Khon Kaen on Tuesday, said Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, dean of medicine at Khon Kaen University.
