Recommended Good Hospitals in Pattaya (Public & Private) and Clinics

What are the good public & private hospitals which are recommended in Pattaya? Also what clinics are recommended for smaller issues? I walked past Pattaya Memorial Hospital remembering that it was mentioned as an expensive private hospital but it looks really old and shabby and small from the outside. In BKK I've used Samitivej before and have taken a look inside Bumrungrad but it seems hospitals here are not anywhere near the standards of BKK.

Did some look on this myself... PhyaThai Hospital in Si Racha was recommended, but I just got thrown out for existing while farang...

That was the first Pattaya-area Hospital I tried because it was recommended... I'll look up a few others nearby and see what their check up deals are.

I used Bangkok Christian Hospital for a check up last year, and they were tops. I just don't like BKK... Hoping for a nearby option.

First of all, there are good and not so good doctors in all hospitals so you would be better off choosing the doctor than the hospital.

Secondly with few exceptions clinics are usually best avoided.

Pattaya Memorial is about the least expensive of the  private hospitals in this area. Phyathai Sri Racha probably next (ignore prior poster,  no idea what his issue was but plenty of farangs, myself included, have gone there with no problem).  Phyathai Samitivej and Pattaya International Hospital are usually a bit more than Phyathai  and then Bangkok Pattaya Hospital is the most expensive in the area - but also the largest private hospital which means a larger range of specialists.

Among public hospitals, Queen Sirikit Naval Hospital in Sattahip and the Red Cross Hospital in Sri Racha are good if  you speak Thai (or have a Thai friend willing to go with you) and don't mind long waits. The main government hospital in Chonburi town is a regional level facility and also a viable option, same  language and time considerations.

It is a mistake to equate the fanciness or newness of a hospital building with the quality of medical care in it. That said, it is indeed true that with just a handful of notable exceptions,  there is nowhere near the same quality of doctors available in Pattaya as in Bangkok. From physicians' point of view this is not a very  interesting place to be. There are a few exceptions though...the best skin specialist in the country is here (for a specialist in skin cancer Pattaya IS an interesting place to be!).

I've used Bangkok-Pattaya hospital on Sukumvit and Pattaya International Hospital in the past.  I liked both ,  Doctors were very professional even used the dentist At Bangkok Pattaya once, but 5-15 years ago.  SamativeJ in Thonburi, Bangkok I did not like the doctor there and place did not seem as clean and modern as the 2 in Pattaya mention.

Are you referring to Dr. Anna at Bangkok Pattaya hospital?  I agree

Thanks. What's your thoughts on Pattaya City Hospital on Soi Bukhao? Anyone else here also used this one and have thoughts? Is it a public or private hospital?

It is a government hospital targeting expats and with I think 2 tier pricing accordingly.

There were high hopes when it first opened and initially some good reports but feedback I've seen since has been mixed at best and people seem to be quoted prices as high as the private hosputals.
