Australian woman’s traumatic time locked in Thai detention for 12 days

Aussie woman Claire Licciardo spent 12 days locked in a Thai detention centre living her worst nightmare. This is what happened.

Claire Licciardo knew Thai detention would be bad, but she never imagined how “horrific” conditions would be and the “blatant disregard” for humanity she saw.

The Australian woman was in detention for 12 days this month with none of her belongings, forced to get by on the 100 Thai Baht ($4) she had on her, nearly half of which went straight to buying a blanket, leaving little for food or clean water.

Ms Licciardo was trying to return home with a new passport when immigration officials stopped her in Bangkok. She said she was in a cell with about 200 women that was meant for 30.

“The guards are charging double. A 1.5 litre bottle of water that costs you 14 baht (60 cents) at the 7-11 was 30 baht ($1.30).

I feel with her.

How?

111 days, overstay waiting on a new passport, ridiculous.

Judging by the pics of her he likes the limelight!

Go home grub

Well, my heart bleeds for her. Not! I deal with people who get locked up in far worse conditions, sometimes for years, often when not having overstayed or done anything wrong, just unluckily in the wrong place at the wrong time. They deserve sympathy, this lady does not. Everyone who has been here a while knows the consequences of overstaying, she just thought she could shed a couple of tears and the rules wouldn't apply to her, and is now having a sob because she was wrong.

You can obtain an emergency passport at the Australian embassy within 24 hours as I did some years back. It was their fault at the time if I remember correctly and the lady in charge was only to helpful to assist.

With social media on the internet, really makes you feel we are living in the age of the entitled narcissist

So much going on in people's lives that most of us more mature age people don't give a damn about.

The desperate texts, the silence, the release what a setup for more publicity.

Looks like the media are falling for it.

Some bull shit story this is,

flush it darling don't varnish it,

1. Claire seems to have been using her assets for financial reward (B5000/2hrs

2. Freelancing for Smooci doesn't require a work permit.

3. A powerful body built like an A.C. Cobra 427.

4. A frequent visitor from Australia.

5. Familiar with the Pattaya party scene.

I think I get the picture now.

Now she is back home she can tell all her new clients how she screwed her way around Thailand.

Something about her story doesn't add up - 111 days to get a new passport? As others have stated, it should be possible to get an emergency passport in a day or two - but not 111 days!

I can't help but have absolutely zero sympathy for her - as callous as that might sound.

The story said she had already paid a 20,000 baht overstay and obviously thought this time would be the same.

As they say in Russia, Tufki Shitski

I was going to make the usual joke about making her bail and staying at my house but. in. this. case. No.

Goodness me.

Don't beat around the bush.

Try to be more direct and say exactly what you mean.

????????????????????

So she was caught working as a prostitute in Thailand, sent to IDC and deported?

I so hope that that she will not profit from disrespecting Thailand in this way.

Alas....She probably will...

Sad...Sad women with no morals at all.

Oi, that's a quality build, something like a 1983 Skoda 1200LS with a rubber rear spoiler would be more appropriate.

That’s cruel photoshop work it looks like her head is not properly connected to her body?

I have to be honest...

IDC is not a place that you want to go....

But if you are stupid enough to put yourself in that position you deserve what happens....

Stupid is what stupid doe's.
