BBC One aired the dramatic conclusion to its Les Misérables adaptation tonight (February 3), and viewers are absolutely gutted that the series has come to an end.

The whopping 75-minute episode saw the French revolutionaries meet their untimely demise as the the military advanced on the barricades in greater numbers, delivering heartbreaking death after heartbreaking death.

Yet another prime indication of how television is now the new Flicks. In recent years the onslaught of TV over Movies has escalated in positive artisan forward march. Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones kicked off the fad, Netflix took it to a new level, BBC delivered Dr. Who and Peaky Blinders - Les Mis was brilliant. But TV drama is brilliant !!

So, is Les Mis any good? I keep seeing it advertised on iPlayer and can watch start

to finish, I was put off by a snooty girl who thought Lloyd Webber's stage adaption

was the best thing ever.

I read the novel by Victor Hugo.  Haven't seen the BBC adaptation but loved the 1935 movie with Charles Laughton and Frederick March.
