webfact
Two million baht's worth of sex toys and Viagra taken off the street in police raid Picture: Daily News The Lumpini police force's patience finally ran out yesterday when they teamed up with protection services and the military to raid ten stalls in the Nana area. Four arrests were made and two million baht worth of sex toys, Viagra and aphrodisiacs were taken into evidence. The haul was piled up outside what appeared to be Lumpini police station in downtown Bangkok. A picture of that appeared in the Daily News story. The cops said that complaints had been received by the public and vendors were "flagrantly disregarding the law" by selling the illegal items on the street. Wirot Nongbualang of the public protection services said that warnings had been issued at the end of last year and in January for the vendors to clear out. But they persisted. Wirot said that some of the drugs are dangerous and this kind of activity brings Thailand into disrepute. The vendors, who were operating in the Soi 3/1 area, have been charged with selling restricted obscene items and being in possession of and distributing drugs for which they did not have a licence. PhilippBKK
Good. The performance enhancers are all fake and the sex toys are pathetic. Good time to get rid of this garbage. Hopefully there will be licensed shops selling good quality sex toys soon and one does not have to rely on overseas trips or shipments. Whatever one thinks about lower Sukhumwit/Nana, there are families with kids roaming around. Hopefully permanent and bad luck for everyone who got a little kickback from letting these stalls operate. Why shouldn't they, if they sell the stuff for years 3 metres opposite of the police' table and chairs where cops are hunting for 2.000 baht fines from farangs throwing cigarette buds on the squeeky clean pedestrian path? Now try to convince me the cops are not involved in the vendors "business".
