A Vietnamese blogger,Truong Duy Nhat, working for Radio Free Asia,has vanished after fleeing to Thailand.

 

The news organisation has voiced its concerns today as rights activists share their fear that he had been abducted.

 

AFP reports that Truong Duy Nhat, a weekly blogger for the Vietnamese service of Radio Free Asia, which aims to provide news to countries that lack press freedom, last made contact with editors on January 26, a day after he applied for refugee status with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Bangkok.

After years of ideological differences concerning communism, the U.S. interference in S.E.Asia and what seemed to be insurmountable challenges, Vietnam, Laos, China and Thailand have finally found a position they can agree on, an inability to accept peaceful opponents of their regime. All being under the influence of men in uniform they are allowing the 'removal' of dissidents from each others country, almost certainly never to be seen again.

If the Vietnamese authorities can abduct a Vietnamese citizen in Germany (as they did), I'm sure doing the same in Thailand is a cake walk in comparison.
