Thai Customs tariff for Air Purifiers

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am thinking of buying an air purifier (Xiaomi Air Purifier 2S). I have checked prices in several places (Lazada, Aliexpress etc) and have found the best price in Lazada Malaysia. I am planning on going to Malaysia and thought of buying the unit there and then bringing it back with me. However, I am unsure if the item will be subject to customs duties.

I have tried to do some research and it appears as if the HS tariff code is 84213990. However, I am unable to locate the Thailand customs duty for this particular tariff or for that matter on any HS code.

Would someone know how to access this information ? Appreciate any inputs you may have on this topic. Thanks in advance.

Buy from AliExpress you'll not have to pay customs if you choose their mailing service and even if you do it'll be a couple of hundred baht they put a crazy low price on the item

If you can put it in your normal luggage the chance that you have to pay anything is close to zero, because they won't even check you, and even if they do they are probably not much interested in your air purifier

Thanks all. Just for context ... AliExpress is at around USD 200 (THB 6300) Lazada Thailand is at around THB 5900 and Lazada Malaysia is at MYR 529 (THB 4000) ... Even if I had to pay the 5% duty & 7% VAT, it's still the best deal.
