I prefer the Japanese model. They let you stew for decades, or only a few years or months perhaps. You don't get a date. Then one day they enter your cell in the morning, give you a sheet of paper and a pencil to say goodbye with, and in less than an hour the trapdoor opens. Of course the garrote is also a demonic form of capital punishment. And you can stretch it out for ages before you finally crush the windpipe and break the neck. Fact is though that I'm not a murderer and killing helpless, defenseless people who are no longer a threat is murder regardless of their past. Judicial murder, with the responsibility neatly shared out so no one feels responsible, but murder nonetheless.
