Thai kid dumped by the roadside told to go and find her dad

9pm.jpg

Thai Rath reported on a story from Facebook that began at a convenience store when a young girl walked in to spent five baht.

The girl was in school uniform and it was 11 am so the staff inquired why she was not at school.

She said that she had been in a minivan with her mother who had told her to get out at the driveway leading to a temple.

She was told to "go and find your father, his name is Tuan". The girl had no idea where he was or what to do. She said her mother's name was "Kai".

The police were called and now the girl is in the care of a Nakorn Sri Thammarat children's home while the authorities decide what to do next.

The story featured on "Tar Arm" on Facebook, a page connected to the store.

Poor child, but I'm not surprised after reading yet another disturbing  report. The mother should be charged with negligence, or what ever could be thrown at her.

Much more despicable things are carried out in what I consider to be a very greedy,

uncompassionate, fickle, black and white nation of mostly, not all, uncaring people, where money seems more important than life...

What should the authorities do next? How about locating the father and have him support the child or children he's fathered.

Unfortunately, this is a culture that doesn't hold men responsible for the children they father, and it doesn't appear that the authorities will do anything to change this situation.

Unbelievable, just unbelievable, how can any mother could do that?

My heart goes out to that poor girl, some people are just so uncaring.

The poor little girl. 5 baht to her name & left alone and scared on the road side.

This is one cause I would be happy to donate to ‘IF’ it was done in the right way. ( ie: no begging family members looking for money )

Not disputing that but, I think in the interest of fairness, I should assert that papa is very likely to be an equally big tool.

Yes, it's a sad story. But do we know if it's true? Do we know that the mother really dumped her with that sentence?

With stories like this there are often reactions like above. And maybe the mother is really so bad any maybe she deserves whatever people wish will happen to her.

But maybe, just maybe, the story is not correct.

I would like to hear the version of the story of the mother before I condemn her.

am with you on that, if it's done honestly and in the right way would be happy help

usually heartless mothers do that.... kids become a burden and just abandon them, unfortunately authorities do shit about it

Thailand desperately needs a governmental child support agency with real teeth that can sanction errant/absent parents including salary deductions from deadbeat dads at source. In this case though, the mother needs several books thrown at her for abandoning her child so callously. A bit of forced responsibility on a few subjects here would not go amiss imo, despite that it would take some real will on behalf of the authorities to make it happen properly...but on this one, it's worth it as it would be a good step forward for Thai society in general.

Evil, that's the only word that comes to mind. Poor girl. Hopefully she'll be able to come to a decent home.

All was fine & dandy in my world until I read this. ????

Didn't you have a look at the rest of the news since at least a couple of years?

Agreed.. plus if mother couldn't find him I don't hold out much hope for the authorities finding him either.

I just hope the little girl can be placed with a family that can actually show her some love & compassion.

The photo showing her sitting down holding her few possessions is heartbreaking, she must be so confused !

Those who have no money for a condom?

You don't expect 'Kai' to take care of her own children. They are good at laying eggs only.

Or maybe people should realise that it isn't "just sex."

Once again this story is short on detail. There is no mention of the age of the child. Was she a toddler at Kindergarten or at junior school? If the later I'm sure she would be old enough to know where she lived.

I doubt that the authorities will have much trouble locating the parent, you don't just dump a school age kid like that without drawing attention. The school she attends would also query her absence.

just go to any Thai orphanage but be doubtful where all donations really  go here.

Bringing up a child consists of passing on social competent values and giving the best possible education.

Education - as we know - is wishful thinking in Lalaland as only the selected few with loose change can afford.
Social competent values are whimsically minimal when compared to other cultures on this planet. This particular example shows the valuation of the own child - and I cannot follow the thinking of this mother. What an affidavit of personality!

It doesn't matter what a woman does, it's always a man's fault.

And there's always a bunch of men ready to back the woman's choices.

Poor kid, what a despicable thing for her mother to do.

What the woman did was wrong, having said that all guys who father children should at least be partially financial responsible for them.

It takes 2 to tango you know.

But what this woman did was despicable.

What a way to treat your pension fund.

Some truly,  just don't care,  do they. :bah:
