  • What an utterly depressing story.

  • Poor child, but I'm not surprised after reading yet another disturbing  report. The mother should be charged with negligence, or what ever could be thrown at her.    Much more despicable thi

' Kai ' needs a good smack in the chops  ....  :whistling:

and so does any 11 years old who doesnt know his/her parents real full name, the family's home address,or/and phone number!!

the story as presented here, just not round!

You don't expect 'Kai' to take care of her own children. They are good at laying eggs only.

No grandparents? from what I have seen most kids here are bought up by the grandparents, the parents don't want to bring the kids up! most put little effort into it, but rather than dump the kids by the road as this obnoxious piece of waste has done they tend to dump the kids on any one who will have them - sad ????

Just look how many kids go to school on motorbikes, making a huge racket and no protective wear, what great parents they must have! & they look like saints compared to this wonderful parent - a society that is very lacking in anything but me, me, me! ????

Was she a toddler at Kindergarten or at junior school? If the later I'm sure she would be old enough to know where she lived.

Not sure my 7-year-old at junior school knows where he lives, or even his surname.

Can you direct me to where the article stated she was 11 years old. Thanks.

I think my 5 year old knows his surname, but certainly doesn't know his mother's name,  or mine.

As for where he lives " with mummy" is about it.

Who's fault is that?

Yes, and at at seven he knew his name, this mother's name and mine, plus his mother's telephone number.

Wow. . . Little genius.

I'm off to give mine a good kick up the backside.

Or better still, dump him at the 7/11

I took a look at the Thai facebook page and managed to decipher some of the comments.

The girl's father lives in the area and has been contacted.  Since she has never lived with her father, the authorities want to check his background before releasing her to him.

Perhaps this will have a reasonably happy ending.

Poor little kid.

How rejected must she feel.

Bless her heart

I did know where I lived at that age, but that was because from age 5 I walked by myself to school.

Down the road, round the corner, down the next road and across the village green.

Mom walked with me, and met me after for the first two weeks, then I was on my own.

just go to any Thai orphanage but be doubtful where all donations really  go here.

My wife and I regularly donate to our local children’s home, but make sure it is only confectionery, food and toys that we give directly to the children. Unfortunately we have heard that cash donations sometimes go missing from both children’s homes and temple schools.

Didn't realise Farangs were involved in either of these two establishments, because "no Thai would do that"

yes came in also to suggest the same, we have helped sponsor several desserts for the kids, which can be expensive when talking about 400-500 kids. I noticed when there the kids are very starved for attention and staff would have us play with 20 or so at a time which I'm sure meant more to the kids than ice cream.

I find it heartbreaking to visit but also very rewarding. We have a personal reason to give back to this home, but we would do it anyway. I just think of the good it would do if every family could make the time and save up the money to visit and give the kids some treats. Certainly I would urge Thaivisa readers to do this.

Gosh! Maybe we will read your story on here too?

Zero accountability, zero consequences, zero quilt.

Poor kid. She was "lucky" enough to have been found. I really don't want to know how many kids down here go through this and worse.

There was an update to the Thairath story in the OP.

The police managed to find the father and the girl's school and teacher and at the moment she is being cared for in a children's home.

I guess in short time they will contact the mother and find out the full details.

It is really amazing that a mother can show no love at all for her young daughter. Just drop her off on the side of the road and tell her to be on her way, even puppies get a better deal than that.

They need to find both the mother and father then take them out the back and give them a good tune-up.

What a tool mama is. Uggg

Probably a bar girl who’s going back to work so she can pin down a foreigner.

One of you will probably date or marry her.
