I am using my old well for the new house I had built.

It is about 80 centimeters in diameter and very deep.

Someone said I need to clean the water in the well before I use it.

Does anyone know the procedure or what I need to do?

I'd say that the first step would be to get it tested, then you can decide on whether it needs filtering or cleaning.

One of the government offices maybe... Office of Water Management and Hydrology?

Testing would be good. We use a well for our business. Never tested the water but a good idea.

 

There's a shop on the eastern bypass where we bought our water system: pumps, tanks and filter system. Price wasn't too outrageous when getting a whole system, around 30,000B as near as I recall. I'd be hard pressed to find it again, but if interested I can ask my wife. Water quality roughly the same as city water.
