Wife claims husband was beaten up by cops after arrest for ganja - he died in hospital

A distraught wife went to Panat Nikom police in Chonburi to register a complaint yesterday after her husband died.

Naruephon, 31, had earlier been arrested at his house on charges of smoking marijuana. He had been tending his chickens at the time.

He was put in the cells at the police station.

The next thing his wife Praphaporn knew she had been telephoned to say that her husband had died in hospital.

She said her husband was a healthy man with no medical issues. She thinks he was beaten up by police.

Pol Col Kritsana Wanabadeenimit of the Panat Nikom police said the body had been sent for an autopsy.

Everyone involved in the arrest was being interviewed as an investigation gets underway.

Pol Col Kritsana promised transparency and justice for both sides.

Who could possibly expect anything different?

Strange story? Maybe he met the wrong Jaba guy in the prison cell?

Marijuana brings on anxiety,  combination  of weed and being arrested could be down to natural causes even at his age.

Only if already living with anxiety or other M/H issues

Can sometimes also alleviate many symptoms, depends on the individual

Hope the autopsy reports the truth !

The only way tranparency will prevail is if there is an independant witnesss at the autopsy.

Going to the cops to report that the cops killed your husband.

I can safely say no charges will be brought here.

I am not talking about ThaIland here.  I am talking about police state- in a police state you often find the police are smartly attired- in their tight fitting uniforms, except for the shoes which unfortunately have painted on type of black polish.

They normally speak well in their mother tongue so any communication in other language would cause some problems- sometimes further complicate the problem.

In a police state- the senior guy often hint the difficulties in the case so you should make an offer. If the offer is acceptable everything is fine. You are free to go.

In a police state- you are in danger the moment you are inside the police building itself. In danger because there were many cases many young punk who insulted the police just simply passed away in the night in the lock up. Police say they are investigating the cause of death. It takes a long time and finally faded into oblivion.

In police state- they often say they are transparent and they do their job with sincerity.

You should be afraid of the police in a police state, why? Because if they decided to frame you, you may be big trouble.

Yes but being beaten to death in jail is considered a natural cause in thailand anyway.
