BANGKOK, 23 March 2019 (NNT) - The Election Commission (EC) has confirmed it has been 100% prepared for Sunday’s election, urging eligible voters to follow regulations at voting units and help prevent inadvertent wrongdoings.

EC Secretary General Pol Gen Jarungvith Phumma revealed the agency has been fully prepared for Sunday’s election while some equipment such as barriers, ballot papers, and pens were being transported to voting units today under the supervision of local EC officials.

He dismissed rumors on social media alleging the use of invisible ink pens at voting units and said the pens had been procured and inspected by provincial branch offices since last week.

He admitted reported mistakes in the delivery of early voting ballots where some ballot boxes were delivered to wrong locations, saying that the boxes were eventually transported to the designated locations, while missing GPS signals from some vehicles carrying the ballots had occurred during a lunch break by the ballot attendants. He confirmed that the ballots had been protected with top security measures and each tranporting vehicle was equipped with CCTV cameras, and had policemen, border patrol officials, and postal officials on board.

The EC secretary general called on voters to study regulations before going to polling units to avoid causing inadvertent errors. They are prohibited from wearing a political party’s clothes or taking photos of their ballot.

A ban on alcoholic beverages will be enforced from 6.00 p.m. today (23 March 2019), while political parties were prohibited from running their campaign any longer.

Unofficial results of the election of constituency-based MPs will be known from the counting after the voting period has ended but the official results will not be announced by the EC immediately.

The EC is given a 60-days time from the election date to investigate any complaints related to the election and is expected to announce 95% of the unofficial results by 9 May 2019.

Drivers, ballot attendants, policemen, border patrol officials and postal officials unanimously voted to have lunch, and let no GPS interfere!

What a total joke and intelligence-insult all of this is.

Oh yes, we all have to have the brain power and depth-perceptiveness of little children and believe that today is an honest democratic election run by good people who are as honest as the day is long.

Doesn't it make you want to throw up?
