An activist group plans to petition the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) on Tuesday for an investigation into whether election commissioners violated the Constitution and other laws.

Srisuwan Janya, secretary general of the Association of Organisations for the Protection of the Thai Constitution, said on Monday the group would submit the petition at NACC headquarters in Nonthaburi at 10am on Tuesday.

The petition alleges offences committed by all seven members of the Election Commission.

Srisuwan said the group will submit evidence and the names of voters and “witnesses” to the alleged offences.

He said the group wants the NACC to refer the matter to public prosecutors, whom he believes will bring it before the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders.

“If the court agrees to accept the case, the seven commission members have to cease their work until a verdict is rendered,” he said.

The nacc? Slim chance that will go anywhere. They couldn't even verify watch ownership in a few days.

The NACC is the recognised protectionist organisation for the junta, it's departments and high ranking officials.

Srisuwan Janya and his cronies of the Association of Organisations for the Protection of the Thai Constitution are going to be given the run around big time by the NACC. They are masters at that game.

Which could mean no election result announced until the court case is over, therefore the incumbents remain in place.

Win-win for the junta???

I wouldn't give the coup government leadership the honor of being called "incumbents."

Maybe "thieves" for stealing the Thai People's sovereignty?

It might be more honest to have them remain in place than being elected in a flawed election that has really no resemblance to democracy than does the election of Kim Jung-On of North Korea.

'Corruption watchdog':

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Tell us another one!

It never ceases to amaze me - the utter naivete or gullibility or downright stupidity - of so many Thais and Westerners who STILL think that ANY official organisation in Thailand is on the side of objectivity, fairness and justice. For God's sake - when will people WAKE UP!!

This is panning out better than any reality show !

The cynic in me very much doubts whether Srisuwan Janya and his chums in the Association of Organisations for the Protection of the Thai Constitution have the remotest interest in objectivity, fairness and justice.

And so it continues.
