Sick dog

Featured Replies

My little dog went away after a bitch and came back bleeding badly.

I took him to the vet last Wednesday and he's still there.

Its cost me 30k baht so far and although the money isn't really an issue I'm worried they are ripping me off.

His femur has been dislocated and the main vein was severed.

They say he needs to stay on to get his would cleaned every day.

Any advice appreciated.

Don't know the vet rates here but I know my sister in Canada faced rates like this for her pets and at the time it shocked me. The vet there did send a sympathy card though when one of her dogs died. Hope your dog recovers.

When you get him back best remove his nuts, females = empty pockets ey !

Yep, they've been removed.

Took the dog home today, he still has a swollen leg, might need cutting off.

Lucky to be alive with all the blood there was.

so did the vet say the injury was man made?

No, looks like a big powerful dog.

Yeah, my dogs vet gives me some hydrogen peroxide and gauze pads and lets me do it at home if ever they get bad cuts.

The vet is 5 minutes away and only 150 baht. Got some mores medicine for 1500 baht though yesterday.

The vet has a nice me BMW X4 ????

150 baht a day to board the dog there? Or to clean the wound? If the dog has to board there and the only reason is to clean the wound then the cost is the boarding and the wound combined. That is a waste of money and more stressful for the dog.

I am assuming the vet manually manipulated everything back into position - that is, no surgery for that part of the problem. Obviously the vein is a different matter. That sort of sudden dislocation usually results from motor vehicle accidents.
