Xangsamhua
Justin Leppitsch was never given a fair chance coaching the Brisbane Lions By Quentin Hull Posted about 4 hours ago PHOTO: Justin Leppitsch did not exactly have the finest playing stocks in Brisbane. (AAP Image: Julian Smith) RELATED STORY: Brisbane Lions sack coach Justin Leppitsch MAP: Brisbane 4000 We may never know if Justin Leppitsch can or cannot coach. Whatever his inadequacies, they were grossly outweighed by those of the environment in which he tried to ply his skills. More at: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-08-29/justin-leppitsch-was-never-given-a-fair-chance-at-brisbane-lions/7795264 Pretty tough, but he really had run out of chances. I wonder who will be next? How different things might have been if the AFL hadn't set up a second team in SE Queensland. The code's pretty sick here right now.

Brissie has been poorly managed for years now and that has flowed through the entire club. Losing those top 5 recruits for nothing and the infighting and court challenges at board level... You just dont see that at well run clubs. (I believe it's situated in Richmond for convenience) No mate they moved the jail from where i use to live to not far from where i now live...bastards are following me around, stuck it mid way between the ring road turn off and my turn off.....nice new prison, i thought it was small while i was watching then build it, 6 months ago they started a new one next door would be at least 5 times the size so there obviously expecting to fill it up pretty soon....and i dout it will be finished this year.... By the way one of the most unpleasant experiences I've ever had was working in Pentrige prison for one day, when a young fella i was working for a company that was contracted to do some work in the section of the "DAMED" thats where all the crooks and murderers and low lifes of the planet who didn't thing twice off snuffing someone, anyone with a bad attitude who wouldn't follow instructions etc where dumped in there. We had to replace the bars on the windows with Hardend metal ones so the trusty hack saw couldn't cut through as there had been a recent escape....they found the guy in NZ 5 months later, anyway we came in as the prisoners were coming out thank god and each one of us had a screw to watch over us mine had a habit of meandering away like 100 meters which at times made me feel rather unwell when a few prisoners came near me....the first cell i worked on was of a guy about 45 he looked fit i continued to work on the cells over looking the pool and football ground....this guy ran around the football ground for 3 hours non stop....most of the prisoners in this block wouldn't work thats right wouldn't so they didn't try and make them they spent there time getting fit....they looked better than any VFL player id ever come close to seeing and i saw plenty in those days as i use to be a footy junkie and go to practice games then mingle with em later... The highlight of the day came when we should have stopped at 3 and got out but no my smart arse forman thought we could get another 15 mins in.....well when these very fit looking dudes came back from there work outs and what evers were rather pissed off to see us still there....threats and intimidation followed then the gestapo looking police arrived to take one of the brothers away at the same time, they hand cuffed him then dragged his sorry ass out of there and i mean dragged as he wasn't going to walk then a god dam riot started and guess where my work crew where? You guessed it we were right in the middle of it...my guts was so over worked from turning over all day when the high light of the day came i got out of there like a shot from a cannon....just ...was something like the raiders of the lost ark....Getting back to the workshop i politely told the big boss in no uncertain terms i was not going back....
Popular Post Old Croc
Prisons can be depressing places Alex. My work took me inside nearly every prison in Western Australia, the exceptions being a couple of bush "aboriginal" prisons. Probably the most uncomfortable experiences for me were inside Bandyup women's prison. Any unknown men going inside were subject to intense scrutiny from some of the nastiest woman prisoners in the State, including infamous serial killers. Shortly after the huge Fremantle Jail riot in 1988, I had to interview one of the ringleaders of the riot. He was escorted to the room by 5 or 6 officers, put into the room with me and the door locked. When he realised I wasn't part of the prison establishment, the tension dropped off him dramatically and he ended up in tears as he told his life story. He was still deported when eventually released. Probably my worst prison experience was in Bunbury where the warden invited me to stay for lunch. Cooked by inmates it was probably the worst slop I've ever had to consume, and I still had to pretend to be gracious to my host.

I remember being worried about exactly that, at the time. Bunbury Prison was where they put most of the sex offenders. I still don't know how you burn mash potato! In the job I had, It was necessary to remember in which restaurants you've been working, and avoid them on social outings. Favourite places were sometimes bypassed so as not to lose them for future outings.

BookMan
GWS and Lachie Whitfield quickly spiralling out of control..distraction for finals The long-standing AFL career and reputation of Graeme Allan hangs in the balance amid allegations that the former Giants football boss deleted text messages concerning an attempt to protect the club's former No.1 draft pick Lachie Whitfield from drug-testers. Allan, Whitfield and the club's then welfare manager Craig Lambert face bans of between two and four years should the evidence against them be proven. The AFL, which has known about the allegations for almost 15 months, will now hand details of its lengthy investigation to the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority. The text messages allegedly deleted by Allan would have been part of evidence in the case that Whitfield's former girlfriend contacted the club and later submitted evidence that the player was helped by club officials following drug concerns. Lambert is also alleged to have deleted text messages. Whitfield's then girlfriend was initially motivated by concerns for his health and welfare. Whitfield, who is expected to line up for Greater Western Sydney in their historic first final at ANZ Stadium on September 10, is alleged to have turned to the two club officials amid concerns that he risked being found guilty of testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance after taking illicit drugs. Allan, as revealed on Monday by Fairfax Media, organised for the player to spend a short period of time at the home of Lambert and away from the club in May 2015. The player did not alert the relevant anti-doping authorities and was reportedly not advised to do so. The AFL's integrity unit has significantly widened its investigation beyond the telephone evidence submitted by Whitfield's former girlfriend. http://www.smh.com.au/afl/afl-news/lachie-whitfield-case-graeme-allan-faces-allegations-texts-were-deleted-20160830-gr4xi1.html
