Hey, I'm sorry for this post as I'm sure there have been similar posts before but I'm finding alot of conflicting information.

I'm currently on a non b visa (extension of stay) and I'm changing jobs, which means a border run to Loas for a tourist visa until my new documents are ready.

I am unable to personally cancel my visa and wp due to the immigration offices being closed for Sonkran and my appointment for the consulate in Laos is on the 17th April 2019. Which doesn't leave me room to change plans as there are 'time penalties' for cancelling appointments. 10 days for cancellation or one month for a no show, according to the website.

1) Can I cancel my extension of stay  at the Laos/Thailand border?

2) If not option 1, can I cancel the extension of stay and wp upon returning to Thailand. (At the local immigration office) and pay the 'fine' ?

3) Will this affect my application for a new non b in the future?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

1. Do you have a termination letter from your employer?

If you have one they will cancel it but may send you back to the nearby immigration office to cancel it. If not they may not let you leave the  country.

3. No problem to apply for a non-b visa at a embassy or consulate. It you did not cancel it it could cause problems applying for an extension of stay.
