I own property in sandiego I know a lot of Latinos from all over South America went to school in Mexico as a kid I’ve worked with people of Mexican hearitage I’ve always found them to be hard working family oriented kinda religious on the norm salt of the earth types just the kind of people I want on my team that being said I’m not for open borders we need leadership that can work together to fix it

So you wouldn't be opposed to several hundred thousand coming to stay in SD in the next few months? FYI these aren't Mexicans.

Blah, blah, blah...the Dems will not help ease the flood of illegal migrants at the border...sanctuary cities defy the law and either harbor or fail to release to ICE detained criminals...

The sooner they build the wall the better. I recently visited Texas and then went on to China. In Texas, I saw many many Mexicans. Then I visited China where they have had a wall for 1000's of years.

It doesn't matter for the most part this is where they will head anyway. Good luck to California.

Yes, the situation in California is dire:

California Must Be Doing Something Right in Trump’s America

Just about every policy Donald Trump imposes to make his America great is opposed by the world's fifth-largest economy. That would be California, which is growing faster and outperforming the U.S. in job growth, manufacturing, personal income, corporate profits and the total return of its bonds. The most populous U.S. state, with 39.5 million people, supplanted the U.K. as No. 5 in the world with an equivalent gross domestic product of more than $2.7 trillion, increasing $127 billion last year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2018-05-29/trump-vs-california-state-s-economy-vastly-outpaces-u-s

All well and good but CalPers is currently at about 72.5% funding for it's pension scheme. If there's ever a problem in California, that's where it will start.

No what I said they are not all evil rapist as Donald would have you believe I’m calling for leadership to fix the problem leadership and dictating aren’t the same thing

Just a thought.  What if there is no immigration crisis?  What if the other side you demonize as in favor of open borders is actually in favor of strong borders and rational use of government resources to support those strong borders?

What if this is a manufactured issue designed to get your political support and distract you while taxation policies that actually hurt you and your family are put in place by the people you voted for and their corporate masters?

Just give it a thought....... Just a thought........

Are you referring to the chuck and Nancy "leadership"?

They have not proposed one sane immigration reform bill.

They want it for political purposes. They are not interested in fixing the problem. Unless of course it means giving every illegal alien citizenship.

By the virtue of being an "undocumented immigrant" lol Illegals don't pay tax that is one reason why they are so "competitive"

Just being an immigrant does not give an employer the right to stop withholding payroll taxes.  I don't doubt that there are some immigrants who get paid in cash and don't pay taxes on it.  But you are sadly mistaken if you think your broad-brush accusation applies to all, or even most immigrants.

Undocumented immigrants pay billions in taxes

"The most recent IRS data, from 2015, shows that the agency received 4.4 million income tax returns from workers who don’t have Social Security numbers, which includes a large number of undocumented immigrants. That year, they paid $23.6 billion in income taxes. That doesn’t even include workers who paid taxes with fake Social Security numbers on their W-2 forms, which is also common."

Undocumented immigrants pay sales taxes too, unless you think retailers somehow can get out of paying taxes on goods and services sold to undocumented immigrants.

And if you really think that some employers are paying under the table or not withholding taxes, then it sounds like your problem is with the employers, not with the employees.

And finally, Americans do it too: Trillions [of dollars] Earned Under Table As More Work [Americans] Off Radar

So don't try to pretend that this is an income tax issue, because if that's what you're pretending to be upset about, you've got a whole lot of American citizens to deal with.  You're upset about tax evasion... really.

Also, Paul Manafort.

It's amazing you seem unable to disinguish between reality and fantasy. Illegal immigration into Mexico is not a felony,  That's what you get for relyig on dishonest sources. It is now what is called an administrative infraction. Actually illegal immigrants in Mexico enjoy a status far better than that of those living in the USA.

Indeed, many complaining about undocumented immigrants are themselves beneficiaries of the immigrant economy.

There is also the uncomfortable fact that once paid, immigrants buy goods and services (taxes paid and economic activity/jobs created).

I just wanted to memorialize this moment.  You admit to being the crux of the problem by illegally paying workers in cash, thereby dodging your duty to collect taxes, and elmrfudd loves that.

Are we seeing a sea-change in this discussion?  So many of you who were outraged about immigrants not paying taxes are happy to support an employer who facilitates this "problem".

Wait, how can this be a "threat" if illegals are so wonderful? Are these Leftist Mayors suggesting there may be something undesirable about illegals? I thought only racists think like that?

I don't think illegal immigration constitutes a threat. There is enough discouragement in place already. The US economy can easily absorb those who manage to make it past the various barriers.

If you transported 100,000 yuppies to San Francisco in one fell swoop, that would also be unwelcome. No city can absorb such a large and sudden influx of newcomers.

What makes it even better is that Fudd was just denouncing illegals for committng ID fraud, and then goes ahead and applauds someone for committing a federal felony.

Federal Immigration and Nationality Act
Section 8 USC 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv)(b)(iii)

A person (including a group of persons, business, organization, or local government) commits a federal felony when she or he:

* assists an alien s/he should reasonably know is illegally in the U.S. or who lacks employment authorization, by transporting, sheltering, or assisting him or her to obtain employment, or

* encourages that alien to remain in the U.S. by referring him or her to an employer or by acting as employer or agent for an employer in any way, or

* knowingly assists illegal aliens due to personal convictions.

my boy? what a triggered emotional response that is, amazing.

White House officials asked Democrats to approve $25 billion for President Donald Trump’s border wall in exchange for extending the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program through fall of 2020, those sources said. That would give Trump his full wall funding request in the must-pass spending bill and still give him leverage over the DACA program heading into his 2020 reelection campaign.

But Democrats balked, demanding that the White House provide a pathway to citizenship to 1.8 million young immigrants eligible under the DACA program, those sources said. The White House might have been open to negotiating further, but Democrats were only willing to entertain the massive wall funding figure in exchange for helping the same number of immigrants that Trump embraced in a proposal earlier this year.

https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/19/border-wall-democrats-respond-470687

just as in the past, when democrats promised to secure the border when reagan granted amnesty, it was never done.

live and learn...or not.

In the 1990s illegal immigraton was at a far higher level than it is now. I can[t recall any of the myriad catastrophes that must have beset the USA during that epoch.

And thank you for endorsing criminal behavior when it's committed by American citizens.
