Tourists hunker down as hailstorm hits Loei mountaintop By The Nation Visitors at Phu Kradueng National Park in Loei suffered an overnight bombardment when a hail storm hit the tourist destination on Tuesday, park officials said. Tourists camped at the park’s mountaintop visitor centre felt the full elemental force as hailstones of two centimetres in diameter hammered their tents for an hour, leaving the canvas roofs ragged in places. Park chief Sombat Pimprasit arrived on the scene to find the ground carpeted white with the frozen pellets. He said 15 tents for tourists were damaged by the storm.
