I want to order a small single electric motor from Hong Kong for an electronic appliance but I am not sure whether or not I can be there to pay for tax fees or whatever they might be called.

Net total USD : USD28.00

Discount : 5.00%

Subtotal USD : USD26.60

Shipping Cost : USD14.50 - Speedpost EMS

Service Charge : USD7.00

Total with Shipping : USD48.10 ( HK Dollar 375.18 )

Would this item go through customs or anywhere where the value of the item would be checked? WOuld they add an additional fee? How much would it be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would also like to know the answer.

Has anyone shiped a computer to Thailand, how did you do it, did you get nailed with tax, if so what % was it?

i was under the impression that it wasn't so much the official tax as the "tea money" that could rise to ridiculous amounts that you have to pay the "official" to get what you own anyway :o

The actual tax rate should be 30% of the total or about $16. You could get hit with about anything or nothing, its always a roll of the dice. Send it by mail and you should be all right.
