BANGKOK, 25 April 2019 (NNT) - To help reduce people’s cost of living, the Ministry of Commerce has coordinated with over 15,300 branches of 13 retail stores nationwide and school uniform manufacturers to organize a product discount campaign, which offers discounts of up to 70 percent on school supplies and uniforms from tomorrow until the start of the new semester.

The 13 retail stores include The Mall Group, Central Group, Robinson, Tesco Lotus, Big C, Makro, Tang Hua Seng, Tops, Seven Eleven, Family Mart, Max Value, Lawson 108 and Foodland Supermarket. Major school uniform suppliers and manufacturers including the Ministry of Education’s Suksapan Panit stores, Nomjit stores, Samor stores and Somjaineuk stores will reduce the prices of school uniforms and school supplies by from 10 to 70 percent across the country for 21 days from tomorrow until May 15, 2019.

Mr. Wichai Photchanakit, Director General of the Department of Internal Trade, said today there are also discounts on essential consumer products such as bagged rice, instant noodles, vegetable oil, soap, toothpaste, detergent, clothes, appliances and kitchenware in front of large participating retail and wholesale stores to help further reduce the cost of living for people. The stores will have a gift box sign.

It is expected that the sales will reach approximately 27,000 million baht and will reduce the parents’ financial burden by 30 percent or over eight billion baht.
