Eighteen wheeler was too high for the bridge

Picture: INN

INN reported that an eighteen wheel truck toppled onto its side after it hit a bridge at a U-turn.

The truck was using the local road of the Route 7 motorway.

One lane was still available for use at the U-turn as Prawet traffic police hurried to get the area cleared.

INN said that the vehicle was too high to use that U-turn.

and because of brake failure the poor unfortunate driver was unable to stop before hitting this ridiculously low bridge............:cheesy:

Maybe the driver was just putting the truck on its side

so he could get under the bridge and it went too far over.

I can hear him in the cab, I can do it,I can do it .

The eighteen wheeler was too not too high. The bridge was too low. I am sure that's what the driver will say.

Was that opinion or fact, as in the bridge was posted to its clearance height?

If this U-turn served the Route 7 motorway, an eighteen wheel truck driver might expect adequate height clearance if a lower clearance wasn't posted.

What a driver might expect and what he actually gets in Thailand are two entirely different things.

Just stating normal Thai male drivers would provide adequate illustration ????

It's quite possible that there was no signage to indicate the actual height either, but unlikely the driver knew how high he was (literally).

It's also possible that the height was posted, and the truck should have fitted. But after years of road "maintenance", adding layer upon layer of blacktop, and not re-surveying the site, the hole is no longer as tall as it was?

The truck doesn't look abnormally tall ..... maybe the load was a bit higher 'loaded Thai style'.

This PM prime mover should gone up for PM!

-  thinks he's Moses and can part the waters himself

- blames everyone else when  the mountain won't move for him...
