Hi all.. I went to immigration office to cancel my existing visa and the officer said there are mistakes in 91 form and 91.1 form. I worked in previous company till last July. But left Thailand in September. So my work permit is cancelled in September. Now the immigration office is asking why I dint pay tax from July to September. How can I clear this? If I should pay fine, how much should I pay and where?

How did immigration know about your tax payments? Did you show them the forms?

You would not need to file a tax return unless you earned more than 150 baht and about 60k more for a standard deduction.

You could file a tax return not. Not sure there would be a fine if you did not owe any taxes.

I think my new HR submitted all papers and even tax paper were there.. My previous salary was 50k per month. Actually my old visa is still valid so new HR is trying to cancel it and take me to new company

All that was needed to cancel your extension was a termination letter.

Technically your extension ended on the day your work permit was canceled.

Did leave in September and then use re-entry permit for entry or did you enter using a visa or get visa entry when you returned.

Leaving the country made your extension invalid but if you used a re-entry permit they could fine you for an overstay.

I left the country without cancelling the visa and applied for new visa from my country and came back in New visa. I thought the old visa is automatically cancelled when I leave Thailand as its single entry visa. Now im in New visa but 3 months non B.. When my new company tried to extend the non B visa, from boi they saying they can't do it because old non B extension is still valid. And that visa is valid till this month end. So I'm checking how can I cancel that previous visa.

Were still on the 90 day entry from the non-b visa or did you apply for an extension of stay at immigration?

There is nothing to cancel if you only had the 90 day entry,

If an extension leaving the country only makes it invalid. Immigration wants to see a cancelled stamp on the extension stamp not just a departure from the country.

My previous visa was not just 90 days.. I almost worked nearly 1 year in that visa.. So its an extension visa.. Actually im facing problems to cancel it now.. How to solve it.. Last week when my new HR went to cancel it they said my 91.1 form is wrong.. So really don't know what is the issue

You may have to file a new tax return to sort things now. Your department made big mistake by showing your tax forms to cancel your extension.

Ok.. But is it possible to pay fine for the 2 months which I dint pay tax and cancel it?

You would have to deal with the local revenue department office to sort out your tax problems.

Then show immigration that it has been taken care of.
