Monday 13th I went to the Tha-Yang Immigration pretty well prepared with
- Passport including

• TM.7 filled out at home (computer) and picture attached
• copies of all pages including TM.30 and departure card

- Bankbooks (1 saving, 1 fixed account) including

• Bank letter confirming 300K++ on saving, 500K+ on fixed account (100 THB by Krungsri on Friday 10th)
• Transfer of 1000THB between accounts (made by e-banking at home early morning) shown in the updated bankbooks
• Copies of bankbooks head- and relevant data-pages

- Blue housebook (I'm living alone in my house, no yellow book) including

• copies of all housebook pages showing no Thai living in there
• print-out of Google Maps showing the route Immigration to my home

- Reentry-permit application TM.8 with

• picture attached to the (computer-) filled-out form
• copies of all relevant pages.

- 3.000 THB for fee's

When the whole package (after precheck) landed on the officers desk, he didn't look at me (except for taking the photo), he didn't speak to me, he didn't ask me anything...
But he worked at an amazing speed, reading his computer screen, typing and handling all the different stamps like Jerry Lewis his typewriter ????
After astonishing 8 minutes he got up, showed his work to the supervising IO and came back to his desk.

Now smiling he showed me my passport with the new stamps, returned me 100 THB and wished me an nice day!

I expect there will be nobody using agents at Petchaburi-Tha Yang Immigration,

unless they have got to have someone holding their hand.

You just need everything prepared, like Lupusthai ,and you should have no

problem and save yourself a few bob.

I know 2 people in Cha Am who use an agent (22K actually). Both low on pension (around 40K) and not able to organize themselfes very well. Tried to advice and help them, but very resistant to friendly offers,,,
At least one of them got his driving license - after 7 years in TH!

That's now, what about next week, next month, next year? Different interpretation of the rules with different officers etc.

If you are worried spend 22K THB on an agent,but i would have much better 

use for it than hand it to an agent....for doing what.

Good report! There are some offices that are efficient and friendly.  I found that Mae Sai is also efficient and friendly. Late last year I changed my SETV to a non-imm o visa then a few months later got my retirement extension and re-entry permit.  Both times there were no issues and the extension/re-entry took about 45 minutes. No agent was used but having my Thai wife with me must have helped.  ????
