Permanent Residency/90 day reporting etc

1. Does a farang with PR (Permanent Residency) still have to do the 90-day reporting at Immigration and the yearly extension? Or does the fact that having PR take you out of the hands of the Immigration police and into the hands of the ordinary police?

2. If you have your name entered into a yellow Tabien Ban (house Registration book) does that named person need to do the same 2 things as above? (90-day report+yearly extension).

1. A person with permanent residency does not have to do 90 day reporting or anything else under Chapter 4 of the immigration act for those on a temporary stay in the country. Those on permanent residency are registered in a blue house book.

2. If you only have a yellow house book you still have to do everything under Chapter 4.

They have indefinite leave to stay so there is no need for them to report their address to immigration every 90 days.

You are still policed by both. But with PR you fall under a separate set of immigration rules to those with temporary stay.

Yes.

 

A yellow TB is simply a formal document stating you live at the address given. It can (some offices) be used as prof of address when applying for an extension, but other than that there is no benefit when it comes to immigration requirements.

Can anyone advise whether or not a Work Permit is required to apply for Permanent Residency under the Non-Immigrant O "Thai Wife" category? Or is the work permit requirement only for application under the "business/employment" category?

Yes it is required.

A work permit is required for almost every category to apply.
