Benz woman in hot water after applying for new licence to avoid traffic fines

The Pak Chong Department of Land Transport were displeased when they found out that a woman who reported her licence was stolen was found out to be lying.

They went to police to report Cholakorn Kaewwinsaeng after they became aware that she claimed on Facebook to say that she had been charged over the top for fines because she was a Mercedes Benz driver.

The DLT say she was lying to them to get a new licence in an effort to avoid paying fines.

Capt Preecha Meephiw of the Nong Sarai constabulary was told that Cholakorn went to the DLT to say she had lost her licence in Bangkok. It was valid until July 2023 and she was believed and given a replacement after paying 105 baht.

Then came the Facebook post in which the woman said that fines of 300 and 500 were not good enough for the police - they wanted to charge her 1,000 baht......because she had a fancy car.

Police will be issuing a summons for the Benz driver, as she was called in the Thai Rath story, for giving false information in pursuance of obtaining a document.

Many traffic offences are up to 1000k as long as no injuries and not drunk. Surely nothing a benz driver cannot afford, maybe they don't know who her husband is.

If the fine/licencing system was  working properly  it shouldn't matter if she got a new licence  because  the fine should be linked not only the licence number but car registration number and owners ID card so nowhere to hide 🤔

proportional to the taxable income

And herein like the rub. They all under report to avoid tax if they pay any. Maybe here it should be proportional to the retail price of the vehicle so regardless of tax et al.. One cannot afford a flash motor without disposable money.

I guess she must be one of those who believe that traffic fines should be paid only by children of a lesser god.

Is that  not so??

Gosh I thought it was so

Let justice be done for a change ! The bigger and more expensive the car is the higher should be the fine ! These public dangers cause all sorts of accidents and deaths on the roads and always get away with a murder literally, clearly they have no consideration of other motorists due to their egocentric blindness towards other 🤨

If she owns an MB in Thailand then she must be able to afford to pay the fines no?

Of course she can afford it but thinks she is 'above' paying fines as she is a Benz driver and is some kind of Demi-God !

Yeah, just like Trump must be able to afford to pay tax.

Wouldn't 1000k be 1,000,000 baht?
