Proof of 800k baht in the bank or proof of 65k baht income and proof of retirement.

A few posts of getting a multiple entry visa there but most are for single entry visas.

Thanks, UJ. I would definitely apply for multiple entry.

Can the 800k be in a Thai bank (I've been working here for years) or does it have to be in the US (home country)?

I went to the Savannakhet Thai consulate site, all in Thai, but from a consulate in another country it lists among other requirements for the non-O:

1. Criminal Record Certificate, not more than 3 months old, issued by the country of which the applicant is a national or a permanent resident

2. Medical Certificate, not more than 3 months old, certifying that the applicant does not suffer from illnesses such as Leprosy, Tuberculosis, Elephantiasis, Drug Addiction and Third Stage Syphilis.(Download Medical Cert)

In case 1. is required can I satisfy it with a Thai Police Clearance Cert. again because I haven't been back to the US in more than 10 years? 2. is trivial.

Thanks again.

Hi and congrats for the marriage.   For savanakhet you need: 1) 5000 baht for multi non-o 2) Visa application form (2 photos) 3) Your wife house book copy (she must sign)

  • That info is not correct. Savannakhet only requires your marriage certificate plus a copy, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card signed by her. You can get a single or multip

You may be able to get one in Savannakhet. To be certain of getting one I suggest going to the consulate in Penang which has the same financial requirements.

The 800k baht can be in a Thai bank.

None of those will be needed at Savannakhet or Penang.

They is listing the requirements for OA visa not a non-o visa.

Ubonjoe, how about Non O single base on having a thai child. Is there any changes in savannakhet? Do the documents need to be sign by my partner for her id and house registration book. As i know before, base on thai child, documents base on thai depended do not need to be sign by my partner. I will be going on Monday

You need the original birth certificate to show them and a copy attached to your application.

Only a copy of the house book registry is needed.

Wednesday last week.

i was there tuesday morning the 4th june - 07:40 already about 50 people waiting - consulate/visa-service open at 09:00!!! at time!!! - out at 09:45! smooth as i let check my documents before opp. the consulate - there is a small restaurant with excellent and cheap food (pay in KIP!!!) and cold beers (pay in KIP) (the currency-rate was 1 baht=280 kip at the money-changer in VTE) - next to this small resto is a desk with friendly people (the main guy has not too many teeth ???? - he will check all your paperwork, if missing a copy of a document he will copy it for you - charge is free or uptoyou! i gave him 3000 kip (1 copie - copy the page in your passport with the entry-stamp laos!) - he clips all the papers together, if you want multiple entry non-immi-0 based on marriage, just add next to the visa-type on the application form "mulitple entry" - i show up at the counter - gave the papers incl. the original marriage-document - tooks less then 1 minute and i was out!
a big group (25 people) in front of me they sent back - out the door - the came by night-bus from vientiane through an agency - this agency arranged them all the papers, but they "forgot" to give them the application form - so the whole group was send out - to fill the form and BACK TO THE END OF THE LONG QUEUE!!! (this group walked out the consulate about 2 pm!!!) - i was told the next day, that tuesday they had more then 400 applicants! mostly from tour-companies arranging very expensive visa-tours!!! was talking to a young man from italy, he paid 6500 baht from pattaya - 2 days - 1 night! incl. hotel! ????

someone told me, that they have actually in VTE about 1000 or more applicants every day...! (not proved?!)

wednesday morning, 5th june - i was told were only about 20 applicants!
to pick up my visa i showed up at the small resto at 10:45 - was already some people waiting (ca. 10!) - so the "trick" is - just take a bag or something with you and make a "reservation" in front of the entry-gate of the consulate! - then you sit down for a chat and a beer or whatever at the resto opposite! - the gate open 13:59 - i was out with my new visa 2.05! the queue at this time was very long...!
came with private car to the bridge 2.15 - through immigrations and paperwork car - left 2.30 laos and left thai-immigration and car custom paperwork and check etc. 2.45!

stayed at the THEPPHOMMA HOTEL for 140k (500 thai-baht) per night, only 2,5 km from the consulate!

Yes, mid week and it was packed. Probably 200+ people.

Next week I will go to Savannakhet to make a new NON O Visa. Two months ago, when I extended my visa for two months at Chaeng Wattana, I was also issued a sheet to notify every 90 days the residence. Now making a new visa, do I still have to notify the address by the printed date 20 November?

Thanks for answers.

No need to do a 90 day report at all that slip was an error. Your 60 day extension application is equal to doing a 90 day report.

No need to worry about it especially since your are leaving the which ends the 90 day stay in the country reporting requirement.

Yeah, I thought it was weird, too. Thanks Joe

Someone has a Visa application Form for Laos for Savannakhet custom?
I found nothing on the web, and I would like to quickly pass custom to  have a nice tea on the banks of the Mekong, while others queue at the Thai Consulate.????

I only found the form for Vientiane custom, but it's blurry, looks badly scanned.

Thanks for answers.

Is this Form still in use? Is correct?

I use an old topic, don't want to open a new one.

Next week I'll make my usual visit to the consulate in Savannakhet for a new non-O visa, the paperwork to be presented are always the same, right?
This time I'm very worried, being Italian, and reading daily news that clearly discriminates against my fellow countrymen, I'm afraid I might have problems at the border.

Same paperwork. But there have been reports of them wanting a name change certificate if you wife changed her name to yours.

It is only a problem entering the country if you are arriving at an airport from Italy. Not a problem if you have been here for awhile.
