Election Commission verifies another three MPs, making total of 500 MPs

BANGKOK (NNT) - The House of Representatives has finally reached its total of 500 MPs with another three MPs verified yesterday by the Election Commission, including a Future Forward Party MP who was elected in Chiang Mai in a by-election, and Palang Pracharath Party and Democrat Party MPs who were appointed on party list basis.

Deputy Election Commission Secretary General Sawaeng Boonmee announced that the EC has verified Srinual Boonlue of the Future Forward Party as MP who was elected in Chiang Mai Constituency 8’s by-election. That resulted in the verification of Wathanya Wong-ophasee of the Palang Pracharath Party and Chitaphat Krisadakorn of the Democrat Party as MPs on party list basis.

Given the addition of two MPs on a party list basis, Phirawit Ruengluedolaphak of the Thai Rak Tham Party has lost his MP status due to inadequate votes, compared to those for the two MPs. Phirawit has been MP for 65 days in retroactive fashion under the constitution. He has performed his MP duty for three days during the selection of the House speaker and deputy House speakers. The deputy Election Commission secretary general said the latest calculation for the two MP seats was not only based on the number of votes cast in the Chiang Mai constituency but on all votes earlier cast in all constituencies nationwide.

Also known as the 'one for you and two for me' method.

And still the Thai People go on taking it all.

I can see virtually no hope for liberty, justice and democracy in Thailand now.

The Thai People are not willing to make the sacrifices necessary to take their country back. For five long years, they (in their millions) have said and done NOTHING as the prison walls were built, stone by stone, brick by brick, bar by bar, all around them. And still they DO nothing. So be it.

It's up to them. There's an apt old English saying (if I might be permitted to mix my metaphors): 'Let them stew in their own juice!'

EC announces!

Chiang Mai 75,000 ELECTED

Chiang Mai 25,000 ELECTED

and lest we forget

Chiang Mai 1,800 ELECTED

Job well done!

The seat allocation is a huge farce

It's not that difficult to comprehend if you understand the system. FFP won the seat, and so had the previously awarded (when the PTP candidate won) party list votes deducted.

PPRP and Democrat candidates lost, and had their party list balance adjusted by the number of extra votes won this round.  This was not a stand-alone by-election, but part of the general election.

at what cost to feed all those    in the troth looking at them on tv not hard to tell who has been in a while and who is new big difference in belly size lol

The system is impossible to understand. It is mathematically impossible in a true and honest system that PTP has ZERO party list seats. They still lost 113 constituencies, it is impossible that those votes are not enough for even a single party list seat.

Of course there is some sort of limit, which again highlights how unfair and dishonest the system is. But I bet you don't really know how it works either, you just claim you do.

Of course, this by election alone highlights the massive cheating, the PTP candidate got an orange card for giving 2000 baht to a monk ! Utter rubbish.

I'm missing something here, how were they supposed to "protest"?

Those that did ended up "stewing" in jail - or worse?

Or was there a fair and "democratic" way for them to "protest" that I missed that actually allowed them to continue to live?

Just another 3 little up and coming yinglucks if you ask me.wont be  long before one of them is caught with their hands in the tills of some government funds.
