A 40-year-old Hong Kong man died when he fell from the fourth floor of the IVY Ratchada Condominium on Thursday, according to police.

Jefryanto Bin cracked his skull after he fell from the condo and landed in the building’s parking lot on Ratchadaphisek Soi 20 in Bangkok’ s Huai Kwang district, Sutthisan Police Station superintendent Pol Colonel Teerasak Sriprasert said.

The body was sent for autopsy to Ramathibodi Hospital.

A witness said the man seemed to be stepping back when he fell from the condo.

Police said the fall was likely an accident as preliminary inspection showed two persons had visited him at 5pm on Wednesday but had left before the incident happened.

The man was alone in the condo when the fatal accident happened.

Surprised there aren't more of these. I am only 5'8" (174cm) and every condo balcony railing I have seen in Chiang Mai don't even come up to my waist. The slightest misstep, and over you go.

Where did you post until now ? I feel like I see at least one of those per week, and probably not all of them make the news. Granted it's not in the Bangkok forum but it's definitely a frequent thing.

With low railing I can easily see someone after a few drink with his buddies go to the balcony to smoke, step back to sit against the railing and fall. Whatever the height I personally don't trust any railing, I never know how old it is and how it's really attached.

Accident / suicide for love.  The typical explanation of Thai CSI

And AGAIN, another fall from a balcony.

I hope the story that people automatically blackout on the way down as the alternative of being conscious all the way down is too horrible to think about

RIP mate.

I'm thinking he was intoxicated and staggered into the balcony rail and overbalanced.

Then he cracked his skull.

RIP. HK.40Y

i read too often abiout this "falling from balcony" in pattaya or in bkk, i start wondering if those deaths have any connection with the hectic life (booze, "drugs", girls) both cities provide
