Defense Minister attends IISS Shangri - La Dialogue 2019

BANGKOK, 3 June 2019 (NNT) - At a bilateral discussion during the IISS Shangri - La Dialogue 2019 in Singapore, Thai Defense Minister has agreed to promote military cooperation with the US Defense Secretary and the Singaporean Defense Minister.

 

Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan attended the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue 2019 in Singapore. It is a forum for discussing and exchanging views on security and the role of strengthening regional security cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

Mr. Patrick Shanahan, Acting U.S. Defense Secretary, delivered a lecture on the United States’ vision about the security of the Indo-Pacific region and Gen. Wei Fenghe, Minister of National Defense of China, delivered a lecture on China’s cooperation on security with other countries.

 

After Gen. Prawit had a bilateral discussion with Mr. Patrick Shanahan, both sides approved of and confirmed promoting closer relations and strengthening mutual military cooperation this year in terms of training, education, research and development and exchanging military personnel especially the cooperation on the ASEAN - US Maritime Exercise which will be held in Thailand and the cooperation on co-chairing the maritime security expert working group.

 

Then, Gen. Prawit had bilateral discussions with Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Senior Minister of Singapore and Mr. Ng Eng Hen, Minister of Defense of Singapore. Both sides exchanged views on the political situation and economy and discussed support for Thailand as the Chairman of ASEAN and strengthening mutual military cooperation.

Thailand bit of a joke. Other countries all make speeches. Thailand can't because no one in seniority can speak English!

Toad Prawit having a bilateral discussion with amy coat-stand... Was it recorded? Oh please, I hope it was! A 'bilateral discussion', and all what follows about it in the text, must be quite long, articulate, ...needing a common language to communicate in, first of all.

The slime of all these press releases under authoritarian and dictatorial regimes is really disgusting, intoxicating!

The toad is probably way out of his depth there and clueless to what it's all about.if Thailand has the slightest sniff of war they go into overdrive making white flags and stick to the side they think would win.an army of 90% peasant farmers who are forced into it.

if they were around dad's army could overpower Thailand.
